FOR KIDS. AND SENIOR EE’S.

With two buttons and an LED, the book explores six basic computer logic gates, including WIRE, NOT, OR, AND, XOR and a LATCH. The book uses light sensors to detect which page is open and change the operands accordingly.

Please take a moment to ask yourself honestly if you:

  • have a baby

  • are planning on having a baby

  • are interested in computer engineering

  • will be attending a baby shower in the next 1-6 months

  • have a friend that looks like they might have a baby

  • are planning to be interested in computer engineering

  • know a computer engineer that acts like a baby

  • skipped the first two days of CE150

  • are learning how to read

If you fall into any of these categories, then you should definitely get a few of these.

The default US shipping option is USPS Media Mail (6-8 business days).

Big Babies Books are not yet stocked in the Netherlands or the UK, so orders that include the Big Babies books ship internationally.

UK orders, that only include CE for Babies, ship from a fulfillment center in the UK and generally take 2-3 business days.

NL, DE, and BE orders, that only include CE for Babies, ship from the Netherlands and generally take 3-4 business days.

For all other countries OR orders that include BIG Babies, you can expect it to take anywhere from 1-6 weeks. Generally EU countries are closer to 2 weeks (and ship under the IOSS scheme, so you shouldn't have to pay any extra taxes or fees). Australia is usually about two weeks. While Norway and Sweden seem to usually take at least 6 weeks.

A bunch of fun pressing buttons

It's a very well made product that my young child loves pressing button and seeing light light up. Haven't been able to teach her why single button press doesn't mean light, but we'll get there.
One of the pages requires the turn to be just right to work, but otherwise, all pages work well. Would recommend for all aspiring engineers, mathematicians, and date I say, computer scientists!

Quality Issues 2/3 Times Now

Great product when it launched but I've bought 2 of the bundle deals and both came with issues.
First time the NOT gate of the babies book didn't work. Second time recently arrived, glop of glue stuck two of the big babies pages together.
Craftsmanship and quality on these have gone downhill.

Cute book

Really fun concept, the book feels solid enough to hold up to a young one. The photodiodes used to detect the different pages seem to need a lot of light - testing out the book in my moderately-lit office, I had to re-align how I was holding it so that light would go into the holes so that it would recognize correctly. Hopefully won't be a problem with lots of natural light on Christmas morning, but at this price point I was somewhat expecting a more robust way for it to be detecting the page turns (small IR LED that reflects off of the closed pages perhaps?)

Defects

Book didn't work. I left a previous review with more details. Never got back to me.

A Must Have For Your Baby's Library

Our 18-month-old baby absolutely loves it, it is the most engaging book in his library. It is certainly a must-have if your baby loves lights, buttons, and switches. It is such a lovely and unique book, plus it entertains your baby for quite some time. In addition, the customer service is exceptional.
